Objectives:
Setting up a ritual
An opening song serves as a greeting and helps the children to make the transition
between their previous activity and the second language class.
Example for French class: (sung to the tune of Frere Jacques):
Bonjour les enfants (bis)
Comment allez vous? (bis)
Tres bien merci (bis)
Et vous? (bis)
A transition song serves to make the transition from one lesson to another,
while allowing the teacher to organize the material for the next lesson. Example
for French class:
Pomme de Reinette et pomme d' Api
Petit Tapis rouge,
Pomme de Reinette et pomme d' Api
Petit Tapis gris.
A closing song is a nice way to wind down and lets the children know the
lesson is over. Example for French class: (sung to the tune of Three Blind
Mice)
La classe se termine (bis)
Rentrons chez nous (bis)
Au revoir les amis (bis )
