The major bookstores in Memphis carry wonderful children's literature in French and Spanish. It will be up to each teacher to collect authentic material and realia of the target culture. Authentic material should be aesthetically pleasing and age-appropriate. The teacher is also responsible for creating the necessary material to support specific lesson plans. Attractiveness of material and developmental stages should always be kept in mind when designing the necessary materials.
